agrep (from the
glimpse package)
serves as the search engine. agrep is an extension to the standard
UNIX tool egrep that can provide successful search results even for
imprecise queries.
Along with parameters for differentiating upper and lower case and exclusively
considering complete words (word fragments are included by default), the degree
of precision of a search expression can be specified. The deviation from the
search pattern of the found word is determined by the amount of insertions,
deletions or replacements where each operator is assigned the wheight 1. It
must be included in the integer interval between 0 (exact match) and 8 (maximum
deviation).
